How to Get Back to School - Student Transportation Information
Niagara Student Transportation Services (NSTS) is a consortium between the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board. The mandate of NSTS is to plan and administer safe, efficient and effective transportation services for the students of Niagara.
Please visit www.nsts.ca and sign in to the secure parent portal to get your child's student transportation information. To sig in to the portal you will need your child's Ontario Education Number (OEN) which can be found on their report card. While signed in, please subscribe to the delay and cancellation module for direct and timely emails regarding student transportation that impacts your child.
Changes to home, pick up or drop off addresses must be made through your child's school. During the summer you may notify NSTS of address changes so we can make sure a bus stop is available for your child to start the school year, however NSTS is not authorized to change student address information.
With the availability of the secure parent portal, NSTS will not mail student transportation notices with the exception of Kindergarten students or new students to the system who do not have an OEN to sign in to the portal.
Please contact your school or NSTS if you have questions regarding your child's transportation arrangements.

About Kate S Durdan Public School
In 1997 the Ministry of Education announced funding for a new ‘joint use’ school in Niagara Falls with the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board. Construction of the building began in August, 1998 . The District School Board of Niagara announced the appointment of the Mrs. Sandra Stevenson as Principal in February of 1999. The quest for a name began in the Spring of 1999. A unanimous decision was made to name the new school Kate S. Durdan Public School, in honour of a former educator in Niagara Falls who had dedicated seventy years to being a teacher, principal and member of the Board of Education in Niagara Falls and for holding the unique distinction of being the first woman principal appointed in Ontario. The doors opened in September 1999 to welcome the first four hundred and seven students.
Our school is located in the south end of Niagara Falls, west of the Queen Elizabeth Way in an area which includes single family dwellings, townhouses and co-op houses. The school has a park across the street and the City of Niagara Falls has created two soccer fields at the back of the school the Kalar Sports Park to the right of the school. The building also houses a thirty five hundred square food daycare centre located in the midsection of the building, which is operated by the St. Catharines Y.M.C.A.
Through the efforts of students, parents, staff and principals from Kate S. Durdan Public and Loretto Catholic Schools, a growing spirit of co-operation, tolerance, understanding and harmony has emerged and we are proud of our partnership.
At Kate S. DurdanPublic School we are committed to the development of a healthy school environment that allows students to develop to their highest potential. We believe appropriately challenging students to do their very best in all endeavors and take pride in their work and most importantly, themselves.
